Quotation
|
Once we receive your Expression of Interest form we will 'phone you to chat through your ideas and get a clear understanding of your needs and aims.
We will email you a quotation and a proposed programme of activities. Please confirm the visit by email.
You will be invoiced on visit day.
Please note ~ a huge amount of preparation work is required to take farm animals off a farm for a visit, including disinfection procedures and a special licence from DEFRA.
Animal welfare regulations also limit our Farm to School service to 1 hour's driving time from Farmer Gow's. Please check google maps - our postcode is SN7 7PR - if you are unsure how far you are from us.
|
Working area
|
We will arrive in the farm's Toyota truck (and for bigger events/groups - with 12' long livestock trailer). Please provide an outdoor working area, accessible by the truck, approximately 8m x 6m.
The truck holds equipment which will be required during the visit. Truck access is therefore very important.
If an indoor area is preferred we will require a working area of approximately 6m x 6m. But please advise us of this - it will take extra time to set up indoors and we will be restricted in the number and variety of farm animals that we can bring. Indoor areas are really only suitable for small groups of under 30 children.
You are responsible for disinfecting indoor/hard standing areas prior to our arrival and after the visit. We recommend plastic sheeting or equivalent for indoor working areas. Disinfection not required on grassed areas.
|
Supervision
|
Farmer Gow’s staff will manage the farm animals.
Your establishment will be responsible for supervising children visiting the stand. Farmer Gow’s will provide colouring sheets and questionnaires for the children plus farm brochures with discount vouchers for parents.
